The Nesbitt/Nisbet Society of North America, founded in 1983, promotes interest in the rich Nesbitt/Nisbet heritage by providing educational resources for people seeking to learn more about their roots. As a paid member you have full access to our www.ibydeit.org website where you will find history, heraldry and educational information about Nesbitt/Nisbet genealogy. Additional benefits of membership include:

• Newsletters from both the American Society and the UK Society to keep you updated on upcoming events and to enlighten with interesting stories about past and present Nesbitt/Nisbets.
• Society Talks from our UK Branch via Zoom with subjects ranging from infamous smugglers to war heroes to member N/N family stores.
• Regional Representatives who are the voice of the members in their region and communicate information from the Board to them and from their members to the Board. They organize N/N Society Tent Hosts at Scottish Highland Games as well as other social events throughout the US and Canada.
• Genealogists to assist you with your research. Using FamilyTreeDNA, Our UK Society's genealogist heads up the Society's Y-DNA Project for Nesbitt/Nisbet Families which matches you with others who have similar DNA characteristics.

• The John A. Nesbitt Scottish Arts Scholarship which offers financial support up to $1,000 annually for beginning pipers, drummers, Highland dancers, harpists (clarsach) and fiddlers to attend a Scottish Arts program of their choice.

• A Member directory which will allow members to contact other members to share genealogy information and stories.
