Meet the Southeast Regional Representative
Jeff Nisbet and his wife, Tammy, and daughter Taylor, came to the Gathering in August and say they had a great time.
In keeping with our effort to involve our youngsters in the Society, Taylor was selected to carry the United States
flag for us when we entered the field for the Parade of the Clans.
Jeff and Tammy reside in Charlotte, NC, where Jeff was born and raised in the same area they now call home.
Tammy and Jeff have known each other for the last 25 years and have now been married for 20 years. For
the last seven or eight years Jeff has been a Sales Director of a movie, book, and video distribution company.
One of Jeff’s hobbies has progressed to the point where he has become quite an accomplished gourmet cook.
The last three years he has found he has a love for fishing as a way to relax and have fun. Once
a year he now goes with his friends to the Outer Banks of NC where they fish, roughing it in the back woods in cabins with
no electricity. From what we hear, this is quite an accomplishment for a city boy like Jeff. Jeff has been the Southeast Representative
since the Gathering in Charleston, SC in 2005. He had become really interested in the Society over the
previous 5 years, but his enthusiasm really kicked into high gear when he heard the announcement about the Gathering in Duns
in 2006. Jeff and his family used that as their excuse to fulfill his life long dream to go to Scotland
for the first time. His love for Scotland has grown stronger ever since.
Jeff has represented the Society at previous Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, and for the first time will be attending
the Waxham Games and Loch Norman Games in 2008. He feels that being in the Society has been a great chance
to meet some wonderful people over the last few years.
