"...to
flatter no man, but fairly and truly to collect
from authentic documents, seals, and tombs what
may be for the advantage and satisfaction of
many private families..."

This Nesbitt/Nisbet Website is dedicated to all Descendants regardless of the spelling variation.

In 1981, the Nesbitt/Nisbet Society of North America
was founded by Professor John and Dolores Nesbitt of Iowa City, Iowa, USA. The Society is proud to assist you with your genealogical
research of the Nesbitt/Nisbet (N/N) families regardless of its spelling. There are many variations in spelling with some
of the earliest being Nesebyt, Nesebyte, Nesebyth, and Nisbet which is still used in Scotland today. The
N/N Society also strives to identify, acknowledge and to preserve our N/N heritage whenever possible. We encourage all members
to become more active within the Society whether it be
attending the annual gathering of the Clan, your participation at highland festivals and/or games that are offered throughout
North America, or just supporting and promoting your
N/N heritage with your friends and family. The purpose of this website is to provide information for and to promote interest in the Nesbitt/Nisbet Society
of North America through Social Gatherings, Highland Games and Education. The N/N Society is always available to assist you with your questions or concerns. Please
feel free to contact us at anytime. In 1983, the United Kingdom's branch of the N/N Society was founded. Since that time, its membership had grown tremendously and membership spans much of Europe. Enjoy your visit. The Board of Directors
